Prague Photos

I got up at 4:30 this morning in hopes of getting photos of the famous Charles bridge without hordes of tourists. I needn't have bothered. There were even fewer people on the bridge after sunrise than before (lots of rowdy guys singing their way home after a late night out).

By the way, I did some research online and discovered a little secret about the dumplings I've been eating. Click HERE for the recipe (and a photo which looks a lot like the one I posted yesterday!).

From the several cathedrals I've been in I've noticed they all look pretty much the same - way over the top.

Okay, not many words today, just lots of photos. Enjoy!

  1. The pictures are great! Looks like the weather's holding? How's the nightlife?

  3. Hey Don, Your pictures are spectacular - as always - and they are sparking memories of my trip to Prague umteen million years ago. How is it that the buildings look the same but I don't...

  4. Nightlife? What nightlife? I go to bed when the sun goes down (fear of vampires or some such).

Janet, the secret is lots and lots and lots of fresh plaster (which is my secret too).

  5. Your pictures remind me of my own trip to Prague. The one I like the most is defiantly the one of the bridge at 4am. I have been in Prague for 2 weeks, I absolutely loved. I was there with my friends. During the day we went to visit what the guide told us to: )
But the evening we spent them in bars. I will leave you here a list of some nice Prague music clubs you can go or if any of your fiends want to go there…I found the city beautiful, like a fairytale land, the towers, the castles, the cathedrals…. But I agree with you, the bridge looks awful with so many turists. And form what I could understand from my Czech friends its like this all year, it doesn’t get better during the low season .I also found the city safe as you can see in this article from the government pages. We could always be out till late that we never had problems or ever saw any incident.

  7. I like to walk up and down the streets inspecting the crazy amount of sights of Prague (it is a beer capital of the world!=). I also was in Benesov, very interesting place, you can book taxi here http://kiwitaxi.com/Czech+Republic/Prague+Airport if you need some transfer.
