We encountered way too many, way too friendly sea turtles this morning. But that's okay because swimming conditions were perfect and we had loads of fun.

Deep Blue Surprise

Look who I saw out in the deep blue this morning. What a pleasant surprise.

And there were lots of fishies along the way as well.

Worth It

I really struggled to keep up with Maui's Mermaids this morning, but it was worth it.

Conditions were surprisingly good and we saw lots of fishies, and even a couple of turtles.

First Swim of Autumn

This morning the Maui Pink Cap swimmers had perfect swimming conditions and encountered lots and lots and lots of turtles.

We also got to celebrate the return of Maggie and Colin, as well as the recovery of Liz.

Thugs

Omilu (top photo) always seem to travel in gangs, and strike me as a pack of thugs.

I got to see several Green Sea Turtles on my swim this morning and lots of other fishies as well.

Amber Century

This Orchid Tree was seeping some really interesting sap.

I've never seen a Century Plant flower up close before now.

This half-coconut seemed to be collecting little treasures.

Emulation

I am always happy to see an endangered Hawksbill Turtle on my morning swim.

I also saw several other turtles, including a Green Sea Turtle which was emulating the Hawksbill in the way it was feeding.

After Olivia

Down here on the South shore of Maui, Tropical Storm Olivia was yet another non-event. This morning the ocean was clear, calm, warm and beautiful.

I am so happy to be back on Maui, even though the places and people I visited the past few weeks were wonderful; but, there's no place like home.

Glorious Water

If you look closely behind the pine tree at the top of the falls, you will find Doug precariously perched near the edge.

We also hiked to some stunning lakes yesterday. We had the very BEST time.

Fall Colors

We crossed the continental divide yesterday on our way to Rocky Mountain National Park. Brrrrr.

Fall colors are popping up here and there.

We hiked uphill (and uphill and uphill) this morning to a couple of Alpine lakes, but weren't quite up for any swimming.

Wyoming Hiking

Doug survived the rain and hail while out burning up the trails on the ATV yesterday.

We were shivering while wearing every layer of clothing we brought in the below freezing temperatures this morning.

We were downright toasty while hiking the old logging roads up here at 8500 feet today. Happy, happy.

Cabin in the Woods

We're visiting Doug's sister way high up in the mountains in Wyoming and Doug even went roaring along the trails on one of their ATV's (he's out there in a thunderstorm as I'm writing this). Fun, fun, fun.
