Even Better

This morning the Maui Pink Cap swimmers met for their final ocean swim of 2018.

I don't know how 2019 could possibly be better than 2018 was, but I'm willing to find out.

I Went Mine

Apparently, this group of Spinner Dolphins has been around all week but only chose today to swim with me.

They were very quiet and swam up to me two or three times before going their way while I went mine.

I love living on Maui.

Short Commute

Many of the Maui Pink Cap Swimmers gathered for sunset and bonfire up on the mountainside yesterday. What a great way to end the day.

This morning a couple of guys took the quick route down from even higher up on the mountain. It looks like it was a fun commute to the beach.

Visit from Santa

Santa and Mrs. Claus stopped by to visit the Maui Pink Cap Swimmers at Lynne's and DB's fabulous post-swim brunch today.

What a wonderful group of people (almost none of whom will be on the "naughty" list this year).

Witnessed Cheesecake

No, I haven't taken to photographing models, nor have I begun doing sexy (or otherwise) portraits. But I do like sharing what I see on my morning walks and swims. And recently, I've been noticing more and more girls doing glamor poses while their friends and mothers take cell phone photos of them.

Repeated Back Flips

A Manta Ray did repeated back-flips for my entertainment this morning - well, also to make the most of an abundant food source.

I also got to see my very first-ever Spanish Dancer, a nudibranch whose gyrations as it moves through the water resemble those of a long-skirted dancer.

Oh, and eleven Spinner Dolphins made a single pass up to, and then by me as well.

Not a bad swim adventure.

Besides all our usual goofing around, the Maui Pink Cap swimmers got to play with a Spotted Eagle Ray, numerous Green Sea Turtles, and lots and lots of fishies.

Another New Record

Earlier in the week, Maui's Mermaids discovered a record number of giant Nudibranchs gathered together; but that record was broken this morning when we found four, all in the same area.

Completely Invisible

Due to strong trade winds this morning, fine rain extended way out to sea for a huge rainbow. My sunglasses made the rainbow completely invisible, but when I saw lots of people looking in that direction I knew to take my sunglasses off - and there it was.

I'm beginning to temporarily lose interest in sunsets, so I'm pointing my camera at different subjects while out each evening.

This morning's ocean swim with Maui's Mermaids brought us up close and personal with not one, but three large Nudibranchs.

Not Stranded

What could be better than yoga on the beach (well, except for a sweet roll and cup of coffee)?

They sometimes look stranded, but turtles often like to bask in the warm sun.

And, of course, another boring sunset...

The Maui Pink Cap Swimmers enjoyed unusually clear water for their ocean swim this morning. We also saw more Sea Turtles than we could count and two Sharks as well.

Makes Me Happy

Lucky me, I got to swim with an endangered Hawksbill Turtle this morning. Knowing that there are still some left makes me happy.

Goatfish blend in with their surroundings so well, that it's always a surprise to me that they are so colorful.

Colorless Turtle

Another beautiful morning for an ocean swim today.

Stay Here

Who wouldn't want to spend their vacation here?

I have been doing some photography for a vacation rental company (Private Paradise Villas) and I would love to stay at any of their amazing properties.

Fun at Work

My boss has been busting my chops this week; but that's okay because I love my work.

And, lucky me, I only photograph beautiful properties; which makes my job so very easy.

Tis the Season

Since we don't have snow down here at sea level, we don't have snowpeople, we have sandpeople.

We are used to sightseeing helicopters passing overhead, but this morning we got buzzed down below the treetops.
