Cold but Worth It

It was only a brief amble from Monistrol to Sauges today under leaden skies and blowing cold winds. Fortunately the rain held off, and I am now fully prepared for the upcoming forecasted thunderstorms after having just purchased a poncho from a shop along the way.

This being a pilgrimage route, there are lots of interesting chapels and churches along the route, including this one in a cave in the cliff face.

We've also encountered numerous enterprising individuals offering services to passing pilgrims. Jaqui had a shed in her back yard with tables and chairs, and she served us delicious omelettes filled with locally grown mushrooms for 8 euros each. I also bought some fruit bread from a wheelbarrow which a young man had drug to the trail.
