I love cool gadgets. Today my friend Lynda took me out on one of her amazing pedal powered kayaks. They work like Venetian gondoliers' paddles by sculling back and forth under the boat (click HERE for more info).

This was the first time I've ever taken a kayak out during whale season, and we were rewarded with several sightings. I apologize for the poor quality of the video, it is not easy shooting from a tiny little boat which is bouncing around; I do much better from in the water.
