Push Me

We swam out deep this morning where the big ocean waves crash into the lava cliffs and, of course, got as close to the action as we dared. These ladies push me beyond anything I would ever think of doing on my own - and I love it.

No Spilling

Our New Year began with a hike along the cliffs just south of our house. In the top photo you see Doug emerging from the largest cave in the cliff face. Even though the A'a lava is brutally sharp, we finished the hike without spilling any significant amount of blood. Yay, us.

This portends an active and exciting year ahead. I can't wait.

Happy 2019

My first swim of 2019 included visits with lots and lots of Green Sea Turtles this morning. They were everywhere and some of them were quite curious to see me in my new wetsuit (many thanks to Doug for the wonderful Christmas gift).

Even Better

This morning the Maui Pink Cap swimmers met for their final ocean swim of 2018.

I don't know how 2019 could possibly be better than 2018 was, but I'm willing to find out.

I Went Mine

Apparently, this group of Spinner Dolphins has been around all week but only chose today to swim with me.

They were very quiet and swam up to me two or three times before going their way while I went mine.

I love living on Maui.

Short Commute

Many of the Maui Pink Cap Swimmers gathered for sunset and bonfire up on the mountainside yesterday. What a great way to end the day.

This morning a couple of guys took the quick route down from even higher up on the mountain. It looks like it was a fun commute to the beach.

Visit from Santa

Santa and Mrs. Claus stopped by to visit the Maui Pink Cap Swimmers at Lynne's and DB's fabulous post-swim brunch today.

What a wonderful group of people (almost none of whom will be on the "naughty" list this year).
