Shy Away

What a beautiful morning for an ocean swim. This large Spotted Eagle ray kept avoiding making eye contact, but this young Green Sea turtle was not nearly so shy.

Wonderfully Unique

Every sunset is special in its own way. Even the boring ones.

Some put on the best show fifteen minutes before sunset, others right as the sun drops below the horizon, and some well after the sun has been down for a while.

Mardi Gras

Maui's Mermaids were joined in celebrating Mardi Gras and Brook's Birthday by brief visits from some Spinner Dolphins and King George.

Happy Birthday, Linda

 This morning the Maui Pink Cap swimmers celebrated Linda's in-absentia birthday with a swim in the glassy calm waters at Keoneoio.

We also mourned the seasonal departure of Bonnie.

All Mine

Lucky me. This morning I had the upper portion of Twin Falls entirely to myself.

The two streams were flowing heavily and my biggest challenge came when the mud refused to give me back my slippahs. Fortunately, walking barefoot works just fine out in the rainforest.

Swimming with Mermaids

It was another perfect morning for an ocean swim with Maui's Mermaids today.

Who Will It Be?

Every year this grassy lawn in Wailea is transformed into an outdoor concert arena, and every year no one knows who the big name entertainer will be. I wonder who it will be this year?

Pleine Air painters were out again on Thursday taking advantage of cloud textured skies (they were once again cloudless this morning - see top photo).

And one of our best sunsets recently was last week at the end of a rainy day.
