Not Sure

I really did not want to go out into the cold and rainy ocean this morning, but sure am glad that I did.

The water was super clear, wind was minimal and we saw lots of critters, including several whales doing repeated pec and tail slaps.

And then the sun came out.

Rare Snowstorm on Maui

Snow falls and sticks on Maui only once every few years, so it was a huge treat to see considerable snow on the summit of Haleakala this morning. I especially enjoy observing snow when the temperature is in the seventies and I'm wearing nothing more than shorts and t-shirt.

I had to smile when I observed that not a single one of the plein-air painters at Kam III ever noticed the beautiful snowscape which was right behind them.

The Maui Pink Cap swimmers ignored the weather warnings and had a great time in alternating sunshine and pouring rain this morning. Plus we got to sing "Happy Birthday" to Rich.

Completed!!!

Hooray! Our federal and state income tax returns for 2018 are both completed and in the mail. I always feel a sense of relief when completing a major chore, and this was a major chore.

So here are some sunsets from the past week...

Unexpected Visitors

Maui's Mermaids were caught entirely by surprise by visits from various wild critters this morning.

While following an Eagle Ray we came upon seven Spinner Dolphins, and earlier were thrilled to notice an extremely rare Hawaiian Monk Seal hanging out beneath us (it was not the baby seal recently seen in the same area).

Click HERE for more photos of the creatures we encountered in the ocean today.

The Maui Pink Cap swimmers were sending their love and warm wishes to Liz on Sunday.

Too bad we were in a marine reserve or we could have also sent two big lobsters.

Beautiful Creatures

I got to swim with a host of beautiful creatures out in the ocean this morning.

I love living on Maui.
