Rainbow-y
After a sunrise rain shower it has been sunny and rainbow-y all day long.
And the sunsets this week continue to not disappoint.

Sunny Mermaids
It may have been raining elsewhere on Maui this morning, but the sun always seems to shine on the Mermaids. We watched this rainbow constantly fading in and out throughout our swim.

Ain't Over til It's Over
Sometimes you've just got to stick around. Even though the sun has already set and the colors are fading.
The top photo was about fifteen minutes after sunset, the bottom photo taken as the sun was dipping below the horizon.

Extraordinarily Clear
We could clearly hear whales singing throughout our swim this morning. And the water was so extraordinarily clear that it truly felt like we were flying through the sky and not through water.

Aggressive Whale Watching
From shore this morning I saw a lot of whales breaching - and some mighty aggressive whale watching tours.

Absolutely Perfect
A few of Maui's Mermaids and friends did a late week swim this morning out in glorious - unusually, absolutely perfect - conditions.

Maui's Mermaids braved choppy seas for the beauty of a visit to the Aquarium this morning.

Full Moon Swim
The Maui Pink Cap swimmers enjoyed a pre-full moon ocean swim Sunday morning with perfect conditions.
Bruce was back and visited almost everyone in the group.

Choppy Waters
A brisk south wind was blowing and I wasn't sure I wanted to brave the choppy ocean waters this morning. But I'm glad I did.
I saw lots of fishies, a green sea turtle, and even a young monk seal which seemed to be sound asleep.

Old Guys
The Old Guys were out riding head-high waves this morning along the south Maui shore. There was a fair amount of waiting between sets, but they seemed to be enjoying themselves when one did roll in.

Maui Mermaids and Friends
This morning Maui's Mermaids were joined by a friendly and playful group of Spinner Dolphins who would not leave us alone.
Finally, we managed to sneak away while they weren't looking.

Birthdays on Lanai
The Maui Pink Cap swimmers went to Lanai on Saturday to celebrate multiple recent birthdays. Surprisingly there were no major injuries this time around.

Pink Caps
Another perfect morning for the Maui Pink Cap swimmers today.
I was surprised that we didn't see any large critters, but there were lots and lots of fishies as usual.
And don't worry, I haven't forgotten the large crew that went to Lanai yesterday. I will post those photographs sometime Monday.

Gray and Lovely
Stand-up paddling is often a family affair with children and pets along for the ride.
Some Agave plants have more personality than others.
This morning started off gray and lovely, before becoming sunny and lovely.

No Disappointment
Maui's Mermaids do not disappoint. This morning we saw multiple Nudibranchs, one shy White-Tip Reef Shark, a big Spotted Eagle Ray, and lots and lots of fishies of all kinds.

Lots of Excitement
The Maui Pink Cap Swimmers had a thrilling time, swimming with at least six (and possibly nine) large White-Tip Reef Sharks Sunday morning. We occasionally see one small shark, and it inevitably quickly swims away, but these were large and bold.
