Perfunctory at Best
After a lovely hiatus from work, I am back to working, working, working. I'm still making time for a brief walk or swim in the morning when possible, but blog posts are perfunctory at best.
Some of the ritzier beach activity companies take a lovely photo of you when you return to shore such as this one on Wailea Beach.

Not Mantas
A friend and I swam out to see some Manta Rays this morning when we were ambushed by Spinner Dolphins. After a couple of quick passes, the dolphins disappeared from my sight. But even though I swam back and forth along the shore, I was never able to find the Manta Rays. Maybe next time...

Full of Flowers
Yes, my morning walk takes me past several beautiful beaches; but it also wends through highly landscaped Wailea where flowers are everywhere.

Synchroneity
Sometimes, dolphins and tourists do not mix. This morning was not one of those unpleasant days. Instead, today was pure synchroneity. The newcomers were respectful and the dolphins were playful.

Not Here
I am always amazed by Maui's micro-climates. I've been hearing stories of torrential downpours and flooding going on elsewhere on Maui, but here it has been sunny and beautiful - just like always. In fact, I had a lovely swim this morning and even spent time basking in the sun afterward.

Not Today
Normally, dolphins seek me out once I am in the ocean doing a swim workout. But not today.
This morning they were pacing back and forth in shallow water in front of my house, asking if I could come out and play with them.
Who am I to deny a dolphin request?

Warm at Last
Yet another absolutely perfect Maui morning, and the fact that my air conditioner has been running all day indicates that winter is finally over! Hopefully no more of those bone-chilling mornings [brrr] in the upper sixties.

What Day Is It?
Let's see, what day is it today? Ah, Tuesday, so that makes it -- a Beach Day!
To be fair, every single day of the year is a beach day for me. It is a rare day indeed when I do not get into the ocean at least briefly.

A Joy and an Honor
I had the privilege this morning of meeting someone who actually reads my blog. Yes, one of the three of you! What an honor.
I also got to swim among a lot of Yellow Tangs and Convict Tangs out along the rocky cliffs of La Perouse Bay. What a joy. It feels great (well, except for the sore muscles) to swim again.

Room Enough
People have discovered one of my favorite swim spots - lots of people. When I got into the ocean this morning not only did a group of about forty Spinner Dolphins swim up to check me out, but so did a whole bunch of humans.
Fortunately, the Pacific Ocean is a big place - there's plenty of room for all of us.

Jumping & Spinning
Thirty-six playful Spinner Dolphins joined me and my buddies in the ocean this morning for a joyful romp. They were insistent on playing and jumping and spinning and racing. Lots of fun was had by all.

Calm Air
I hiked part of the coastal trail where the road ends in South Maui this morning.
Most of the trail was across barren lava fields and the wind was blowing so hard I had to struggle to keep on my feet. So the stretch of keawe forest offered a welcome respite of dappled shade and calm air.

In Deep Water
Today found a nervous me out in deep water again, jumping at every shadow. Fortunately, one of those shadows was a Humpback Whale calf which swam by to check me out.
